2017-Tuscaloosa Younger Women’s Task Force Mentoring Project
Beginning Spring 2017, YWTF Tuscaloosa chapter members from all professional sectors, will be available to formally mentor young professional women, college women and teens. Tuscaloosa YTWF Members continue to develop their leadership skills and invest in the lives of younger women and continue to uphold the chapter’s mission through this program. Tuscaloosa’s YWTF Mentoring Initiative hopes to continue empowering women through mentoring pairs and establish lasting relationships by positively impacting teen girls, young women, executive women and retired women in our community.
If you are a young professional or college woman in need of a one-to-one mentoring relationship and wish to be considered as a mentee with a one-to-one mentor from a member of the Younger Women’s Task Force of Tuscaloosa, please email ywtf.tuscaloosa@gmail.com for more information.
October 2016-YWTF Members walked and raised money in the local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event held on October 29, 2016.

April 2016– YWTF Tuscaloosa participated in Shelton State Community College’s Spring CONNECT Event.
December 2015- YWTF Tuscaloosa donated books to St. Luke Daycare, 2605 Skyland Boulevard East Tuscaloosa, AL 35405
November 2015 – In honor of National Family Literacy Month, YWTF Tuscaloosa donated books to: Hightown Academy, 3926 28th Avenue Northport, Alabama 35473
November 2015– YWTF Tuscaloosa Board Members volunteered with Alabama Project LAUNCH’s Books, Balls and Blocks Event. Help Me Grow Alabama, a program of Project LAUNCH, hosted “Books, Balls and Blocks” –a free, fun event providing early child development screenings for children 4 months to 5 years old.
October 2015– YWTF Tuscaloosa donated toiletries to Turning Point of West Alabama in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Turning Point is the second-oldest domestic violence shelter in the state of Alabama and one of the oldest such agencies in the United States. Today, Turning Point provides direct services to over 2,000 primary and secondary victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
October 2015–YWTF Board Member Shjuan Pickett presented during a Breast Cancer Awareness Event in Marion, Alabama.
September 2015-YWTF Tuscaloosa participated in Shelton State Community College’s “Get On Board Day 2015”. The winner of our $25 gift card was Breyana Taylor.
Shelton State Community College is a public, open-admission, comprehensive community college whose primary mission is to provide accessible post-secondary education, training, and community educational opportunities.
